Features:

  • Designed for exposing conditions that arenot visible to the naked eye
  • Wavelengths of 365 mm for skin detection

Colour Analysis:

  • Blue: healthy skin
  • White Spots: thick layer of dead skin cells
  • Light Purple: dehydration
  • Dark Purple: sensitive, thin and dehydrated
  • Brown Spots: pigmentation/sun damage
  • Orange - Oily skin
  • Light Yellow: acne, comedones

The UV Lamp may show the following:

  • Increase in pigmentation to determine whether the condition is: Epidermal or Dermal
  • Pigmented lesions have a clear border under Woods light because the light is absorbed by increased melanin
  • Loss of pigmentation (eg, vitiligo) to identify affected areas in light skinned people
  • Hypopigmented skin has sharper borders under black light and fluoresces bright blue-white while areas of reduced blood flow are unchanged
